Jane Schultz-Janzen
Jane Schultz-Janzen retired in June 2023 after 35 years of serving the Waterloo Region District School Board, first as a high school music teacher and Department Head, then as a guidance counselor and finally as a Safe and Healthy Schools Consultant.
Between 2016 and 2021, Jane chaired a Student Wellness Team and ran a Day's for Girl's Club (DFG) at Kitchener-Waterloo Collegiate Institute. This is when her passion for serving women and girls with period poverty began.
In October 2017, Jane was honoured to receive the Laurier Centre ofr Music Community Service Award.
Presently, Jane is an active member of the Shantz Mennonite Church serving on the Board as a chairperson of the Christian Education Team. She is also a church musician and a volunteer as the Bishop Kisare Technical School in Shirati Tanzania. She also gives female hygiene presentations in rural Tanzania as a Days for Girl's ambassador.
Jane is thrilled to be in her 15th year as Director of the Waterloo County Teachers' Choir.

Our Accompanist
Welcome to Katherine Rochester!!
Katherine Rochester is a graduate of Wilfrid Laurier University (BMus) with Associate diplomas from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto (piano performance) and the Royal Canadian College of Organists. She has spent much of her life as a church musician and continues to play organ and piano at various churches in the region. She has served as accompanist for a number of choirs as well as studio accompanist and piano instructor at Heritage College in Cambridge. She currently has a full roster of piano and theory students. Katherine lives in Cambridge with her husband Dave and is the mother of three
adult sons and grandmother to three little girls. She is excited to be part of the Teachers’ Choir. |
Our Members
Our choir has a membership of 80+ teachers, retired teachers, educational assistants, administrators and other support staff. The membership also includes family members and friends as our choir is open to all those who share a love of singing
